ABOUT THE PROJECT
A brand new purpose-built early learning centre in Queenstown, with popular local educators at the helm; this project warranted something unique. A credible and modern look was required to position the brand as the premium early childhood centre in the region. Located literally at the base of the Remarkables, the name Remarkable Start was a natural fit - also aligning to the brand’s driving purpose of giving each child a remarkable start to their education.
“Nurturing tomorrow’s Trailblazers” was the core thought we put at the heart of the brand story. Setting the tone for the identity, a theme of starting out on a journey and being guided on an adventure took shape across all elements. The slightly ‘earthy feel’ of the brand style captures the essence of the beautiful Queenstown setting and the Montessori principles of learning through nature.
A playful and muted vibrancy in the palette provides a child-like appeal while balancing the brand’s earthiness. Authentic imagery was central to achieving the brand’s whimsical mood and style. We worked with a talented local photographer to provide a selection of stunning hero images of children interacting with the Queenstown landscape. The imagery was important for communicating the brand story in the marketing while the centre was still under construction.
This project was a perfect example of a brand coming to life cohesively across all touchpoints. Beyond the identity development, we also worked with the project team to help embed the brand’s aesthetic throughout the actual centre. From the landscaping and wooden playground through to the Scandinavian inspired furnishings, the theme was ‘bringing the outside in’ and connecting the children to nature.
The Remarkable Start brand and stunning Centre took shape true to the team's vision and they have consistently had a wait list since the opening!
